Friday, May 22 - Day 1 - GROUP departure to Thessaloniki

Saturday, May 23 - Day 2 - Arriving Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki - second largest city in Greece and the “foodie” capital of Greece. Your bus is waiting at the airport to transfer the group to our Hotel. Check in - Orientation - Welcome group dinner. (D)
Sunday, May 24 - Day 3 - Veria, Thessaloniki
(Breakfast optional). We journey to Veria to attend the Liturgy at a most reverend Monastery in Berea, followed by visiting the city where St Paul preached. “On the steps of St Paul.” The city is known for its many Byzantine churches, earning it the nickname "Little Jerusalem." Group lunch and back to “Amazing Thessaloniki” to venerate the Patron Saint of the city, Saint Demetrios, the Myrrh-gusher, Holy great-Martyr, commander of the Roman forces in Thessaly. Free evening to explore the night life of this gorgeous city.
Monday, May 25 - Day 4 - St Paisos - Saroti - Philippi - Kavala - Thessaloniki
After breakfast, we travel to Saroti, the Monastery of St John The Baptist to visit and venerate St Paisios relics. We continue on the journey through the regions of Amphipolis and Apolliana on the way to Kavala-Philippi where St Paul started his ministry. Among the gathered crowds, St Paul encountered a devout woman named Lydia. After he baptized her, she and played a huge role in spreading the Gospel. We visit the baptism site where a Church was built in her name. Philippi is also where St Paul and Silas were prosecuted, beaten and imprisoned in the Agora. By God’s intervention, an earthquake shook the jail and broke their chains. They did not escape to protect the jailer from punishment, so he rewarded them by attending to their wounds and took them to his home where all of his house members were baptized. Return to Thessaloniki - such a vibrant City with significant historical and cultural charm. St Paul preached in the synagogue here for three consecutive Sabbaths, teaching about the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ. His compelling words influenced many, leading to the establishment of a strong Christian community.This is a very rich city of Saints; St Demetrios, St David of Thessaloniki, St Gregory Palamas, to name a few. Free evening.
Tuesday May 26 - Day 5 - Check out - Thessaloniki - Kastraki - Meteora
After breakfast, We have a Thessaloniki goodbye tour before we head to head out to the Magical Meteora. No words can describe the beauty and deep spirituality of this ancient site with beautiful Monasteries. Overnight at Kalambaka. Free evening.
Wednesday, May 27 - Day 6 - Check out - Kalambaka - Kastraki - Athens
After breakfast, we check out and visit the most famous Monastery of St Stephen, the first martyr; venerate his relics and visit the Monastery of Great Meteoron. We continue driving to the wondrous mosaic Monastery of St Luke, a real unforgettable experience. Onwards to Athens, Hotel check in, group dinner and strolling through the entertaining Plaka of Athens. (D)
Thursday, May 28 - Day 7 Piraeus - Aegena - St Nektarios House and Monastery - Athens
After breakfast, we drive to the port of Piraeus to catch the ferry to Aegena Island where St Nektarios lived and reposed. Group seafood lunch by the sea. Back on the ferry to Athens. A chance to visit the Acropolis for those fit and able! (L)
Friday, May 29 - Day 8 - Corinth - Athens
After breakfast, we then travel to Corinth - place of the letters of St Paul to the Corinthians. We will also visit the Corinth Channel (cut by hand) an incredible achievement at that time. We will look at Ancient Corinth, with its incredibly preserved ruins and visit the beautiful St Paul Church. Return to Athens in time for you to enjoy shopping and your free evening.
Saturday, May 30 - Day 9 - Catania (Sicily) - Siracusa
After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head to the airport for a flight to Catania the capitol of Sicily, ITALY. We will stroll through Catania - have an Apertivo or Gelato - and travel to Hotel outside of Siracusa. Free evening to enjoy the beautiful Hotel restaurant and surroundings - and enjoy the pool and hot tub.
Sunday, May 31 - Day 10 - Ragusa, Modica, Noto - Siracusa
After breakfast, we have a full day exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Ragusa Ibla, Modica, and Noto. These are Sicily’s truly captivating cities with baroque architecture that offers an authentic Sicilian experience. Modica is known as “The City of One Hundred Churches” as well as Italy’s city with an ancient recipe for chocolate. (L)
Monday, June 1 - Day 11 - Siracusa and Ortigia
After Breakfast, we explore Siracusa and Ortigia. The Duomo di Siracusa (or Siracusa Cathedral) sits majestically on the stunning Piazza Duomo in Ortigia and is a UNESCO World Heritage site with a fascinating history. It is built on the site where St Paul preached for 3 days and is the oldest Christian site in Sicily. The Ortigia market is a great one with souvenirs, clothing and yummy food everywhere you look. We are hosting an “arrivederci Sicily” group dinner where you’ll want to try: Spaghetti alla Siracusana - (delicious pasta with anchovy olives, capers and tomatoes) or Penne alla Norma – a Sicilian classic of eggplant, tomato, basil and ricotta salata – as well as pasta with pistachio pesto and prawns. (Pistachios are cultivated on the island and you see them on absolutely everything!) (D)
Tuesday, June 2 - Day 12 -Ferry to Malta - Valletta
After breakfast, we check out and transfer the to the port of Pozzallo to catch the ferry to Malta and 2 hours later - we are in magnificent Malta. Apostle Paul lived on Malta for three month with 275 fellow travelers. He converted the Maltese to Christianity. Malta is significant in the Bible because God used a shipwreck and Paul’s status as a Roman prisoner to bring the gospel to a people who would have otherwise never heard it. Luke records the shipwreck in great detail in Acts 28 and says that the islanders were kind and friendly to the shipwrecked crew and passengers, giving them shelter, food, and hospitality when they washed up on the shore. We will experience Maltese hospitality first-hand and tonight you have free time to enjoy the hotel’s amenities.
Wednesday, June 3 - Day 13 - Valletta
After breakfast, we explore this tiny walled capital city of Malta. Beautiful Valletta (a UNESCO World Heritage site) is a fortified city built by the Knights of Saint John in the 16th century. Although the city is only one square kilometer in size, it has a huge history and stunning architecture that you may recognize from Game of Thrones and films like Gladiator and Troy. But Valletta is more than a photo op—it’s a fascinating portal into ancient civilization.
Thursday, June 4 - Day 14 - Mdina & Rabat - Valletta
After breakfast, Morning walking tour of these two neighboring cities of Valletta. Mdina has St Paul’s Cathedral while Rabat has the Grotto of St Paul and, Roman ruins and picturesque streets. Afternoon rest at the Hotel before last evening of fabulous VIP experience of an exclusive guided tour of St John’s Co-Cathedral (breathtaking!) prior to Valletta Resounds: The Caravaggio Experience - which is a 40-minute performance of theatrical storytelling and timeless classical music all in the historic Oratory where you can gaze upon Caravaggio’s masterpiece The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist. This is an absolutely awesome finalé to our our Tour that you’ll long remember.
Friday, June 5 - Day 15 - Flight Home
After breakfast, if requested, we will arrange transport to the airport as per individual flight schedule.
